Missing You Today

_________________________

The noise of the room fades as I close my eyes.
Slowly images of you begin to appear to me and
the outside world has disappeared completely now.
All I see is you, I can almost smell you.
I smile, and you return it to me as you reach
for my hand. Grasping it, I now pull you close in a warm embrace,
and I feel your breath on my neck. My heart leaps.
I step back and hold your face in my hand then kiss you deeply,
supporting you gently I move us to the floor.
We spend what seems like an eternity
exchanging increasing affection and removing what keeps us apart.
As the time passes our passion grows with each touch
until at last our skin is free to feel one another,
totally uninhibited, warm, smooth.
Instinctively our bodies move into position
like a two piece puzzle fashioned exclusively for one another.
Breathing in time, inseparable, soaring.
Higher and higher we go as we approach the pinnacle
our movements become involuntary and our breathing labored.
Finally the breaking point, electricity coursing through
our very beings shaking throwing pulsing...

Our bodies cooling as we melt in the glow and one another's arms
I kiss the sweat from your brow and we sleep...

I wrote this a couple of years ago for my wife while I was away on business and missing her. After reading last poem from Joy, I decided to post this one.
